Jon Rahm said he is focused on posting low numbers rather than helping financially challenged LIV Golf raise big ones.
The Spanish star was asked at a Tuesday press conference ahead of this week's tournament in Andalucia whether he will take a leading role in helping the league find new investors.
'It would be more of a stay-in-your-lane type situation as it goes to me,' Rahm said.
'I know nothing about business,' the two-time major winner added. 'I'm never going to claim to know anything about business, and if I was in a business pitch, I would not know the first thing to say. My job is to play golf.'
LIV Golf CEO Scott O'Neil has said that several players have offered fundraising support since Saudi Arabia announced in late April that it was ending its financial support after the 2026 season. Bryson DeChambeau, for one, said last week that he has 'quite a few ideas' for investors.
Rahm said he is too busy with golf and family matters to add anything else to his plate.
'If any player who knows what they're doing is willing to do certain things like that, I think it can only help,' Rahm said. 'To have insight from a player on a meeting like that can help, and I'm open for any suggestions possible, but I would also say I don't have the free time that Bryson has to be flying around the country to attend meetings with three little ones and one on the way. Even if I wanted to, I don't know if I could do it.'
Fellow Spaniard Sergio Garcia expressed his support for O'Neil's efforts when he was asked Tuesday about his confidence levels in LIV Golf existing beyond this season.
'We're really excited about the work that our CEO, Scott, and his team are putting in. We enjoy being involved in it, giving our input and seeing how we can help make sure that the league keeps going forward,' Garcia said.
'We're very confident that (next year is) going to happen. It's just going to look different. In my opinion, more than being worried about if LIV is going to keep going or the league is going to keep going, it's more how is it going to look going forward. I think that's where we are, and we're trying to figure out the best way possible moving forward and how we can be excited for all of us, not only ourselves but our fans, our sponsors, everyone that is involved.
'We're looking forward to seeing the final product.'
LIV Golf Andalucia begins on Thursday at Real Club Valderrama in Sotogrande, Spain. Talor Gooch is the defending champion.
