Warnie attends NY charity fashion gala with Liz Hurley

Shane Warne, who recently made headlines for his "metrosexual" makeover, made an unlikely appearance at the New York Fashion Week alongside Elizabeth Hurley and old pal Sarah Jessica Parker on Wednesday.

The 42-year-old former Australian cricketer joined a crowd of celebrities to kick off fashion week with amfAR's charity gala raising money for HIV-AIDS research at Cipriani Wall Street.

The black-tie benefit was hosted by Parker, who Warne and his fiancee got to know better during her visit to Melbourne to promote her film 'I Don't Know How She Does It' last November, the Herald Sun reported.

The former 'Sex and the City' star spent a day with the couple at the sportsman's Brighton mansion hanging by the pool.

Other stars at the amfAR event included supermodel Cindy Crawford, heiress Nicky Hilton, and designer Kenneth Cole.

Warne arrived in New York last week to join Hurley while she films scenes for 'Gossip Girl'. (ANI)
