Focused on being governor, not vice presidential nominee: Jindal

Indian-origin Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal, who has supported Mitt Romney as presidential nominee, has made it clear that he is focused on being governor and not the Republican vice presidential nominee.

Jindal, who initially endorsed Texas Gov. Rick Perry, frequently pointed to his own re-election as his top priority when asked about a potential VP slot.

After running virtually unopposed in October, he won his second term.

"I've got the job that I want. Our next challenge is pension reform," Jindal told POLITICO.

Jindal came out in support of Romney as his closest rival Rick Santorum suspended his presidential election campaign.

"Congratulations to Governor Romney on winning a hard fought race, I look forward to supporting him in retiring President Obama," Jindal said.

"I'd also like to congratulate Senator Santorum for running a strong race and for making the difficult decision to step aside at this time," he added. (ANI)
